Linus impressed by Microsoft Songsmith

Linus Torvalds

Linus Torvalds doesnt support Microsoft products , but of late, he seems to have been impressed with a Microsoft product SONGSMITH .

Microsoft Songsmith is music composition software for Microsoft Windows, launched in early 2009 .  Songsmith immediately generates a musical accompaniment after a voice is recorded. The user can adjust tempo, genre (such as pop, R&B, hip-hop, rock, jazz, or reggae), and overall mood (e.g. to make it joyful, sad, jazzy, etc.).The software, formerly called MySong, was developed by Microsoft researchers Dan Morris and Sumit Basu.

Linus considers it a true work of genius” and “when used right the end result is undeniably art.
