Switching form Ubuntu to Windows Vista:the rare case

ubuntu lappy

Now here is a rare case of Ubuntu to Vista migration. Mr.V.Ganesh writes a big explanation as how he took this daring decision to replace Ubuntu with Vista in his netbook(HCL MiLeap-L).
He points out that , as long as he had ubuntu 8.04, he couldn’t get his work done as he had to spend most of his time tweaking and installing supporting softwares. His laptop had a strange 800×480 resolution that made part of the windows and icons hidden up no matter what solution he tried. He seemed to have had a tough time upgrading to newer versions of ubuntu and the annoying “updater popup” prompted for a big download of 100 MB. Personally he missess only one thing : the  gcc compiler package. His liking for IE7 over firefox is a surprise.
After reading his article on this matter, i felt “opinion differs” !
What surprised me more was, this article hasnt sparked any flame war at iLugc mailing list discussions !!
